    LACC President and CEO, Alejandro Coss

    honored with the prestigious Ohtli Award by the Mexican government.

     

     

    ATLANTA, GA.-  The Latin American Chamber of Commerce of Georgia, President and CEO, Alejandro Coss, has been recognized with the renowned Ohtli Award 2023 by the Government of Mexico. This award is the highest honor a Mexican or Mexican-American individual or organization located outside of Mexico can receive and is granted by Mexico’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Institute of Mexicans Abroad.

     

    The name “Ohtli” comes from the Nahuatl word meaning “road” or “path” and symbolizes the opening of a path for others. The Ohtli Award recognizes individuals who have aided, empowered, or positively affected the lives of Mexican nationals in the United States and other countries.

     

    The award was presented by the Consul General of Mexico in Atlanta, Ambassador Javier Diaz de Leon. during a special celebration of the 213th Anniversary of the Mexican Independence at Atlanta City Hall. Atlanta Mayor, Andre Dickens joined the Consulate of Mexico with welcoming words and participating in the celebration of Mexican traditions and culture.

     

    During the ceremony, Consul General Diaz de Leon recognized the work and professional career of Alejandro Coss and highlighted his contributions not only to the Mexican and Mexican-American communities but also to the Latino community in Georgia.

     

    “I am truly humbled and honored to receive this prestigious award, It means so much to me that the work that I am so passionate about also resonates with others.  This honor gives me even more drive to work hard every single day to ensure Georgia remains the best state in the country for Latinos and Latinas to start businesses, work, and raise a family.” Said Alejandro Coss.
